About these terms

This is Muhammad Shoaib's personal professional website and is operated by Muhammad Shoaib. References to “I”, “me” and “my” in these terms mean Muhammad Shoaib.

Submitting an enquiry or booking a consultation does not by itself mean that Muhammad Shoaib has agreed to act for you. If your matter is accepted, you will receive written confirmation explaining who will provide the legal services, what work is covered, the fees and the applicable terms.

By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the website. Nothing here removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Appointments and online bookings

  • The booking form is used to request an available consultation time. Please provide accurate contact details and select the service that best matches your enquiry.
  • Appointment times are shown in the time zone identified by the booking form. A booking is made only when the system confirms it or states that it is awaiting confirmation.
  • A confirmed appointment reserves consultation time only. It does not mean that the firm has accepted instructions for the wider matter or agreed to meet any deadline.
  • The current booking form does not take payment. No cancellation or no-show charge is imposed through this website. Any paid consultation and its cancellation terms must be clearly agreed with you in advance.
  • If you need to cancel or rearrange, contact the office as early as reasonably possible by email or telephone.

Personal information used for booking is handled under the Privacy Policy.

When a solicitor-client relationship begins

Viewing the website, sending a message or booking an appointment does not by itself create a solicitor-client relationship or oblige the firm to act. The firm may first need to understand the matter, check for conflicts of interest, verify identity, complete regulatory checks and agree the scope of work.

If the firm agrees to act, it will confirm the arrangement and provide client care or engagement terms setting out the work, responsibilities, costs, complaints process and other matter-specific information. Those terms govern the legal work and take priority over these website terms if there is a conflict.

Fees and professional terms

No professional fee is payable merely for browsing this website or submitting the current booking form. If a consultation or legal service carries a fee, the amount or charging basis, VAT and relevant third-party costs will be explained before you are asked to commit.

Fees, payment arrangements, the scope of service and any cancellation rights for legal work are governed by the quotation and client care or engagement terms supplied for that service. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

Confidentiality and communications

Solicitors and SRA-regulated firms have professional duties concerning confidentiality. Information received from a prospective client will be treated with appropriate care, but an initial enquiry does not guarantee that the firm can act or that every communication is legally privileged.

Before the firm confirms a secure way to receive documents, send only the information needed to identify the parties, understand the broad nature of the enquiry and arrange an appointment. Email and consumer messaging services can carry security risks, so do not send original documents, passwords or banking credentials through them.

Third-party services and links

The website uses Cal.com to administer appointments, Resend to deliver contact-form enquiries, embeds Google Maps to show the office location, and offers links to WhatsApp and other external services. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. External links are provided for convenience and do not give us control over the third party's service, content or availability.

I remain responsible for my own use of suppliers and for information I publish on this website. Please read the Privacy Policy for details of how personal information is shared.

Intellectual property and acceptable use

Unless stated otherwise, the website's text, design, branding, photographs and other original material are owned by or licensed to Muhammad Shoaib. You may view, download or print reasonable extracts for your personal, non-commercial use.

You must not:

  • misrepresent, republish or commercially exploit website content;
  • use the website unlawfully or to infringe another person's rights;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access, introduce malicious code, interfere with security, or place an unreasonable load on the service; or
  • use automated extraction in a way that disrupts the website or breaches law.

Accuracy and availability

Reasonable care is taken when preparing website content, but law, procedure, fees and public information can change. I do not promise that general content will always be complete, current or suitable for your circumstances. Material errors brought to my attention will be considered and corrected where appropriate.

The website or booking service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, faults or events outside reasonable control. If an urgent matter cannot wait, use the telephone or email details shown on the Contact section.

Liability and consumer rights

Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and rights or remedies that consumer law does not permit a business to exclude.

Subject to that protection, I am not responsible for loss caused by reliance on general information where it was reasonable to obtain advice for your own circumstances, or for third-party content outside my control, except to the extent that the loss results from my breach, negligence or another liability that the law does not allow me to exclude. Liability arising from legal services that a regulated firm agrees to provide is governed by that firm's client care or engagement terms and the law; it is not excluded by these website terms.

Complaints and regulation

Questions about this website can be sent to shoaib@britonsolicitors.co.uk. If a regulated firm accepts your instructions, complaints about its legal services are handled under the complaints procedure and client care information that the firm provides. That information will explain how and when the Legal Ombudsman or the firm's regulator may be able to help.

Raising a complaint will not reduce any right you have under law or the terms governing an accepted legal matter.

Governing law and courts

These website terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of any mandatory protection or right to bring proceedings available under the law of the country where you live.

Changes and contact

These terms may be updated to reflect changes to the website, suppliers or law. Changes apply from the revised date shown at the top and will not retrospectively remove rights that have already arisen. The terms in force when a booking is made continue to govern that booking; revisions apply only to later use and bookings.
